With reference to your letter of the 28th September last, I have the honour by direction of His Excellency the Governor to state that a despatch has been received from the Secretary of State for the Colonies enclosing a copy of a correspondence with Mr Stuart Wortley on the subject of the acceptance by this Government of the notes of your Bank.
In forwarding to you a copy of the letter addressed by Mr. Fairfield to Mr. Stuart Wortley I am to inform you that the Secretary of State has promised to address a further despatch to the Governor in the event of Mr Stuart Wortley's writing again.
